ROUND MOUNTAIN (9033’)

1.1 miles, 300’ elevation gain, 1:25 roundtrip time

After hiking around exploring in the Twin Eagles area near Tarryall for several hours I decided it would be fun to climb a ranked peak before I headed for home. Round Mountain is a very easy summit to reach and is located only about a mile north of US 24. I parked north of the peak along FR 223 a short distance east of CR 31.

I headed south across open terrain and then did a quick bushwhack up through wooded slopes to the summit, where I arrived after 25 minutes. A strong sense of winter still lingered in the air.

After enjoying the views a few minutes I hiked back down and headed for home.
